Das APHELION 2 gehört zur 4. Generation einzigartiger MC-Abtastsysteme von Rega. Mit dem neuen APHELION 2 wird die hoch entwickelte Technologie des Apheta-3 auf ein neues Niveau gehoben.
Die Rega Entwickler haben alle technischen Merkmale neu durchdacht und optimiert. Entstanden ist das APHELION 2 mit einem außerordentlich steifen Bor-Nadelträger der einen Diamanten mit dem von Rega hoch entwickelten Fine Line Schliff trägt. Der Antrieb besteht aus einem extrem starken Neodym Magneten und einer sehr sogfältig von Hand auf einen winzigen Kreuzträger gewickelten Spule aus extrem dünnem Feindraht. Die mit dieser Anordnung einhergehende Gewichtsreduktion erlaubt eine verbesserte Abtastung und eine höhere Auflösung von kleinsten Details die in der der Plattenrille verborgen sind. Das APHELION 2 ist in einem hoch präzisen aus einem Stück gefertigten schwarz eloxiertem Aluminiumträger eingebaut. Eine gelbe ultraleichte Abdeckung dient als Schutz vor Beschädigung.

Dieser Tonabnehmer ist die ideale Ergänzung zu dem vielfach preisgekrönten Platenspieler Rega Planar 10 und gehört zur serienmäßigen Ausstattung des Spitzenmodels Rega Naiad.Besondere Merkmale
Wie alle Rega Tonabnehmer ist auch das APHELION 2 von Hand gefertigt. Es stellt derzeit die Spitze in Entwurf und feintechnischer Entwicklung hochwertigster Abtaster dar. Dieses bahnbrechende neue MC- System holt einfach mehr Musik aus jeder Schallplatte heraus als es bislang möglich war. Der starre Boron Nadelträger und dem Diamant mit dem hoch abtastfähigem Fine Line Schliff tragen wesentlich zu diesem Ergebnis bei. Regas Entwurf ist einzigartig in der Realisierung eines unbedämpften Generators ohne Spanndraht mit äußerst geringer bewegten Masse und rhombischem Gegenlager für den Nadelträger.
Die Anordnung wird durch einen speziell für Rega entwickelten Neodym Magneten vervollständigt. Eine solche System Konstruktion erfordert die Einhaltung äußerst geringer Toleranzen bei der Herstellung des Alu Trägers. In diesem schwierigen Fertigungsverfahren bündelt sich die jahrzehntelange Erfahrung von Rega als Tonabnehmerhersteller. Das Können legt darin, nicht nur Abmessungen, sondern auch die Ausrichtung aller Elemente für die Montage frei von Abweichungen einzuhalten.
