Bernd Ahne von HiFi-Tuning hat sich sehr lange Gedanken über den Einfluss von Sicherungshaltern im Sicherungskasten auf den optimalen Klang gemacht. Schließlich muss die gesamte Stromversorgung der HiFi-Anlage durch diesen Flaschenhals. Es gibt also kaum eine andere Stelle, die so einfach eine Aufwertung des Anlagenklangs ermöglichen kann. Die Produktion eines ganz eigenen Sicherungshalters mit all seinen Zertifizierung ist für ein kleines Unternehmen illusorisch. Ahne suchte sich also einen großen asiatischen Zulieferer, der willens war, sich auf die außergewöhnlichen Ansprüche von HiFi-Tuning einzulassen, so lange er per Vorkasse bezahlt.

Das Resultat der Zusammenarbeit ist ein schwarzer Sicherungshalter, dessen Innenleben eher ungewöhnlich ist. Das fängt mit den innen verbauten Schrauben aus nicht magnetischem Edelstahl an und geht mit Leiterbahnen aus Reinkupfer weiter, das zusätzlich versilbert, verkupfert und vergoldet wird. Der absurd anmutende Aufwand wird betrieben, um eine dauerhaft stabile Leittfähigkeit weit oberhalb von Messing zu erreichen.

In Berlin wird der Sicherungshalter mittels eines Stickstoffbades kryogenisiert. Genau genommen gibt es danach sogar noch ein paar weitere Arbeitsschritte, die jedoch Bernd Ahnes Betriebsgeheimnis bleiben, um Nachahmerprodukte zu verhindern. Der Sicherungshalter nimmt Supreme³ - Sicherungen im Format 10,3 x 38 mm mit bis zu 32 A auf. Es empfiehlt sich, deren Kappen vor dem Einsetzen mit einem trockenen Tuch von Fingerfett zu befreien.

In Haushalten werden typischerweise die 16 A Sicherungen verwendet.

Das N-Fach der doppelten Ausführung enthält einen massiven 10,3 x 38 mm Kupferstab, welcher in 3 Stufen versilbert/verkupfert und vergoldet ist. Aus rein klanglicher Sicht wird empfohlen, anstatt des Kupferstabes eine 32 A Sicherung im Format 10,3 x 38 mm zu verwenden.
