Der Supreme³-Sicherungshalter von HiFi-Tuning gilt als das klangliche Maß der Dinge wenn es darum geht, den Strom vom Sicherungskasten bestmöglich an die Anlage weiter zu leiten. Rein materialbezogen ist der Ansatz mit Leiterbahnen aus Reinkupfer, die versilbert, erneut verkupfert und dann vergoldet werden, bevor die Gesamtkonstruktion im Stickstoffbad tiefgekühlt wird, wohl ausgereizt. Es gibt jedoch noch einen Ansatz, der häufig als esoterisch bezeichnet wird, obwohl er doch unter Materialforschern unbestritten ist: Kristalle haben einen Effekt auf metallische Leiter in ihrer unmittelbaren Umgebung.

Genau diesem Ansatz folgt Bernd Ahne von HiFi-Tuning mit der ihm eigenen Konsequenz. Während andere sich mit der Auswirkung von Quarz-Kristallen oder Turmalin auf den Klang beschäftigen, hat er unterschiedliche Natur-Diamanten hoher Reinheit geordert und mit ihren klanglichen Effekten in unmittelbarer Nähe seiner Sicherungen experimentiert. Sein Fazit ist eindeutig: Ein echter Diamant hoher Reinheit in wenigen Millimetern Entfernung der metallischen Kappen seiner Sicherung bedeutet ein kraftvolleres, offeneres Klangbild mit einem hörbaren Gewinn an Dynamik.

Der Diamant weist einen Brillantschliff auf und hat einen Durchmesser von 3 Millimeter. Er wird so am Sicherungshalter angebracht, dass er sehr nahe an der Sicherung ist, ohne jedoch elektrischen Kontakt zu haben. Die nicht symmetrische Anbringung an der Front ist somit gewollt und kein handwerkliches Unvermögen. Experimente mit größeren Diamanten machten zwar optisch etwas her, brachten jedoch keine klangliche Verbesserung gegenüber dem gewählten Typen.

Der Sicherungshalter nimmt Supreme³-Sicherungen im Format 10,3 x 38 mm mit bis zu 32 A auf. Es empfiehlt sich, deren Kappen vor dem Einsetzen mit einem trockenen Tuch von Fingerfett zu befreien. In Haushalten werden typischerweise die 16 A Sicherungen verwendet.

Das N-Fach der doppelten Ausführung enthält einen massiven 10,3 x 38 mm Kupferstab, welcher in 3 Stufen versilbert/verkupfert und vergoldet ist. Aus rein klanglicher Sicht wird empfohlen, anstatt des Kupferstabes eine Sicherung mit 32 A im Format 10,3 x 38 mm zu verwenden.
