Trilogy 931i

Die Art und Weise, wie wir hören, verändert und entwickelt sich ständig weiter. Da immer mehr von uns an qualitativ hochwertigen Kopfhörern interessiert sind, hat Triology beschlossen die Errungenschaften, die das 933 Modell ausgezeichnet haben, beizubehalten, aber zu einem deutlich niedrigeren Preis. Der 931i (verbessert) mag erschwinglich sein, aber seine Leistung und Qualität ist immer noch Trilogy pur : Detailliert, geräumig, kommunikativ.

Der 931i ist vollständig diskret aufgebaut, d. h. es werden keine generischen integrierten Schaltkreise verwendet. So kann der Designer Nic Poulson alle wichtigen Parameter des aktiven Schaltkreises kontrollieren und die Leistung ausschließlich für die vorgesehene Anwendung optimieren. Die kleinen, leichten Treiber, die in Kopfhörern zum Einsatz kommen, sind sehr eng an das Ohr gekoppelt und bieten daher eine gnadenlose Offenheit.

Wie sein vielgepriesener Verwandter, der 933, arbeitet der Audioschaltkreis in reiner Single-Ended-Class-A-Technik mit aktiven Konstantstromquellen. Jeder Kanal verfügt über ein einziges kontinuierlich vorgespanntes Ausgangsgerät. Die Hauptvorteile dieser Topologie sind, dass der Ausgang frei von Crossover-Verzerrungen ist und das Gerät auf einer konstanten Temperatur gehalten wird. Ein überdimensioniertes lineares Netzteil bietet einen guten Headroom für die aktiven Schaltungen. All diese Elemente sorgen für eine exzellente Kleinsignalauflösung bei gleichzeitiger Beibehaltung einer guten Treiberleistung.

Es gibt zwei Stereo-Line-Eingänge, einen ALPS-Lautstärkeregler in Audioqualität und durchweg Qualitätskomponenten von Markenherstellern. Die Montage erfolgt vollständig von Hand in firmeneigenen britischen Werkstätten. Die Ausgangsgeräte geben so viel Wärme ab, dass ein Kühlkörper erforderlich ist. Ein extrudierter Kühlkörper von der Stange würde hier ausreichen, aber Trilogy hat sich für ein CNC-gefrästes Teil entschieden. Halbleiter reagieren empfindlich auf mechanische Vibrationen und ihre Betriebseigenschaften variieren mit der Temperatur. Die Vorteile der Klangqualität, die sich aus der Befestigung der Ausgangsgeräte an einer großen Masse mit geringer Resonanzsignatur und großer Wärmeträgheit ergeben, wiegen die höheren Kosten mehr als auf.

Die Standardlackierung ist ein sanftes Natursilber, das die Qualität der wunderschön gefertigten Verkleidung unterstreicht. Glänzende Lackierungen (Aufpreis)  sind eine Option für diejenigen, die ihre eigene Note hinzufügen möchten.
