HiFiMAN SUNDARA SILVER

Der HIFIMAN SUNDARA, der 2018 auf den Markt kam, setzte in seiner Preisklasse neue Maßstäbe für offene magnetostatische Kopfhörer. Mit seiner hervorragenden Auflösung, detailreichem und luftigem Klang sowie einer beeindruckenden Musikalität wurde er schnell zum Preis-Leistungs-Hit. Allerdings gab es einen Wermutstropfen: Der Hochtonbereich des SUNDARA, der auf asiatische Nutzer ausgerichtet war, klang für europäische Musikhörer gelegentlich überbetont. Diese Kritik nahm sich HIFIMAN-Gründer Dr. Fang Bian zu Herzen und nahm wesentliche Anpassungen vor, die in die Entwicklung des Nachfolgemodells SUNDARA Silver einflossen.

Die wichtigsten Verbesserungen beim SUNDARA Silver betreffen die Bedämpfung der Membran, das Schutzvlies und das Lochgitter. Dadurch klingt der SUNDARA Silver nicht nur weiterhin offen, sondern auch noch klanglich ausgeglichener und angenehmer als sein Vorgänger. Diese Anpassungen bieten insbesondere für Langzeithörer Vorteile, da die Höhen nun weniger dominant und der Klang insgesamt harmonischer und natürlicher wirken.

Die Bügelkonstruktion und die Ohrpolster des SUNDARA Silver entsprechen denen des SUNDARA. Der Materialmix aus Kunstleder und PE sorgt für eine angenehme Haptik, während der perforierte Kunstlederring der Ohrpolster die Bedämpfung durch den Schaumstoffring weiter verbessert. Die Ohrpolster verjüngen sich vorne und sorgen so für ergonomischen Komfort. Zudem sind die Polster einfach auszutauschen.

Im Lieferumfang des SUNDARA Silver sind ein robustes Transportetui und ein flexibles 3-Meter-Anschlusskabel enthalten, das unempfindlich gegen Mikrofonie ist und auf der Eingangsseite mit einem angewinkelten 3,5-mm-Stecker versehen ist. Ein Adapter für 6,35-mm-Klinkenbuchsen liegt ebenfalls bei.

Wie sein Vorgänger benötigt auch der SUNDARA Silver einen kräftigen Kopfhörerverstärker, um sein volles Potenzial auszuschöpfen. An einem Mobiltelefon klingt er eher dünn. Ab einer Leistung von 0,5 Watt bei 32 Ohm zeigt der Kopfhörer seine Stärken, und mit 1 Watt Leistung wird das gesamte Klangspektrum des SUNDARA Silver hörbar – eine wahre Meisterleistung in dieser Preisklasse.
